military "A Military Salute" Exhibit Opening & Memorial Day Morning Reception for those who plan to attend the Memorial Day Service at the Gregg County Courthouse. 9:00 am to 11:00 am.

The Gregg County Historical Museum Education Center,
218 North Fredonia Street.

May 27  - July 5, 2008

"A Military Salute" an exhibit of combat artists' paintings, drawings and sketches depicting scenes of the Vietnam and Korean Wars; on loan from the U. S. Naval Department.

Open to the public and free of charge.

Landmarks of Longview Architectural Home Tour IX
Four homes of architectural significance in Historic Longview are open to the public for a two-day, weekend tour. 

Tickets are available through:

  • Gregg County Historical Museum
  • Barron's
  • Louis Morgan Drug #1 and #4
  • Texas Bank & Trust
  • and at each home during the tour; from 2 - 5 pm.  


December 6, 2008

Living History Christmas, 10:00 am - 4:00 pm Saturday
Step into the Gregg County Historical Museum and step back in time as the exhibits come to life celebrating Christmas with actors in period costumes, a weaver, a dulcimer player, a lace maker, a blacksmith and mule drawn carriage rides.  Featuring pianist Gwen Garrison-Tomlin and a book signing by author Bill O'Neal.  See the LGB Model Trains and Christmas Village exhibit.

December 6 - 19, 2008

Model Train and Antique Toy Exhibit
The Historical Museum's Education Center is transformed into a winter wonderland as the LGB model trains travel through a snow covered village.

Tuesdays through Saturdays 10:00 am - 4:00 pm
Open Saturday evenings during "Christmas at the Courthouse" December 6, 13 and 20.
