The Gregg County Historical Museum provides a structured educational program for over 5,000 students each year.
An in-school event is presented by docents dressed in costumes who go into second-grade classrooms. The docents discuss pinoeer life in Gregg County and demonstrate numerous artifacts to the children.
An in-museum program for third-grade students is conducted by docents who instruct and lead tours of the museum. The emphasis is pioneer life in East Texas.
An in-museum program for seventh-grade students is presented by docents who instruct and lead tours of the museum. The emphasis is architecture and printing.
Almost 500 interviews with Gregg County residents recorded on video. These interviews give a unique and personal insight into the history of Gregg County.
