The Gregg County Historical Museum is located in downtown Longview in the historic Everett Building at 214 North Fredonia Street.
The structure was built in 1910 as Citizens National Bank. After extensive restoration and the installation of exhibits, the museum opened in 1984. The Everett Building is listed in the National Register of Historic Places and has a Texas Historical Marker.

Permanent exhibits illustrate the development of Gregg County:

  • Displays centered on timber, farming, oil, railroads, schools, business, and commerce
  • Room scenes including the bank president's office, a dentist's office, an early 1900s parlor and bedroom, the interior of a log cabin and a general mercantile store.

Other permanent exhibits:

  • The Arthur Northcutt Brown Military Collection
  • A print shop exhibit with a video program
  • The Dalton Gang bank robbery display with a video presentation
  • The Architecture in Texas exhibit
  • A display of the work of interior designer James Northcutt

Video Interview Collection

  • Almost 500 interviews with Gregg County residents recorded on video. These interviews give a unique and personal insight into the history of Gregg County.
